Their coach will have discipled them and helped train them in the areas of outreach and evangelism. Many of the coaches will be college students. One of the six Visions 25 goals of the Southern Baptist Convention is to “Turn around our ongoing decline in the SBC in reaching, baptizing and disciplining those under the age of 18.” From 75% to 90% of the students in the 6th to 12th grade in our SBC Churches have dropped out of church by the time they graduate from high school. We need to do everything we can to address this loss.  I feel the Student Missionary ministry could greatly help us as a denomination in fulfilling this goal of reaching more students! A high school graduating senior that signs up to be a Student Missionary will be make a commitment to reach their college campus for Christ. A campus or church based Collegiate Minister will secure them a coach.
